Heatwave in Aachen: the Grand Prix Special sets its alarm earlier

Publié par Sébastien Boulanger le 13/08/2026

n Aachen, even the horses will be setting their alarm clocks. With high temperatures expected on Friday, the FEI has decided to bring forward the start of the Dressage World Championships Grand Prix Special to 8:30 a.m., instead of 10:50 a.m.

The competition will then treat itself to a long siesta between 12:45 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., before resuming and finishing at the originally scheduled time. The decision was taken unanimously by the officials, based on veterinary and meteorological advice, with additional heat mitigation measures planned across the entire venue.

En revanche, la deuxième journée du dressage du concours complet (dont la reprise est plus courte de moitié) reste programmée comme prévu, conformément à l’avis vétérinaire.

À Aix, vendredi, on sortira donc les reprises avant les parasols.
