Fort Worth had never seen anything like it. Nor heard it, for that matter. 6,000 spectators on their feet, a constant roar, and that strange feeling that dressage had just transformed into a stage sport. Here, every extension triggers a “wow,” every pirouette a roar.
The tone is set by Raphael Netz, still riding the wave:
« It’s an incredible feeling. I told Monika (Theodorescu, Germany’s team coach): ‘It’s going to be good, I can feel it.’ And luckily, I was right. The crowd is incredible. It’s a phenomenal stadium. I raised my hand, the music started, and from the very first note, everyone was shouting, clapping, screaming. And it continued throughout the entire test. »
Same story from American rider Christian Simonson:
« It was truly incredible. During the test, I don’t necessarily hear everything, but at the end, looking up and seeing that wall of people standing, applauding Rocky… it was very special. He deserves all that recognition. It’s exactly what we want for our sport: enjoyment and an amazing atmosphere. »

In this electric atmosphere, Jagerbomb didn’t falter—quite the opposite.
« Oh yes. It’s exactly his ideal environment. I think he was feeling all that energy. What was incredible is that it was very electric, but he stayed totally with me. It’s a technically very difficult test, really difficult, but he stayed focused, with me. I’m delighted with him. »
Et derrière la victoire, une équipe de l’ombre :
“We’re a very small team. My very good friend and competition groom, Kim Masson, is here with me, and she’s crying like a baby, which is great. She works in marketing, lives about seven hours away from me, and takes time off to come help me at competitions like this. It’s incredible. She’s as proud of Jagerbomb as I am today. And then there’s the whole team at home holding everything together while I’m away. Thank you, everyone.”
Simonson, Sysojeva: the new wave making waves
Derrière, ça pousse fort. Très fort.
At 23, Christian Simonson signe une deuxième place (83,810 %) pour son premier championnat senior. Et il en parle comme d’un rêve éveillé :
« Je ne pense même pas avoir les mots pour décrire toutes les émotions que je ressens en ce moment. Je suis incroyablement fier de mon cheval et de toute l’équipe. Rien que d’être ici était déjà incroyable. Alors être sur le podium avec deux cavaliers et deux chevaux incroyables… Je suis juste tellement fier de représenter mon pays. C’était une soirée vraiment géniale. »
Pas ingrat le gamin.
« Je suis juste extrêmement reconnaissant. Je dois remercier mon coach, Adrienne. Si elle me dit de traverser le feu, je lui demande juste comment et quand. Si elle me dit que je peux faire quelque chose, alors je le fais. »
Et son complice Indian Rock :
« C’est un cheval incroyable. Unique. Il m’a emmené jusqu’à une finale de Coupe du monde et à tous ces moments spéciaux. Et maintenant, un double podium… Je ne pourrais pas être plus heureux. Je l’aime tellement. »
Troisième, la Polonaise Sandra Sysojeva crée la sensation avec Maxima Bella (10 ans), plus jeune cheval du plateau :
« En sortant de piste, on ne s’y attendait pas, mais mon cheval s’est tellement bien comporté aujourd’hui. Il n’y a presque pas eu de grosses fautes et je suis vraiment très heureuse de mon résultat. »
10 ans seulement mais déjà une longue histoire.
« Je l’ai depuis ses deux ans, donc on a traversé beaucoup de choses ensemble, des hauts et des bas. Je suis vraiment fière d’elle. Et maintenant, nous voilà ici. »
Il faut dire que l’Oldenburg connait la musique.
« La musique avait été choisie pour les Jeux olympiques de Paris, puis j’ai fait quelques ajustements, et encore pour le Texas, notamment la fin de la reprise. Je pense qu’elle correspond vraiment parfaitement à ma jument. Je ne vois pas quelle autre musique pourrait mieux lui aller. »

Le Suédois termine 4e avec Touchdown. Médaille en chocolat. Déception nette. Le champion espérait mieux. Beaucoup mieux.
Fairchild solide, Barbançon bouleversante
For Belgium, Alexa Fairchild holds her own with 78.005% and an excellent 7th place overall.
But the most powerful moment, the real one, came from Morgan Barbançon.
13e, oui. Mais surtout un adieu. Celui à Sir Donnerhall II, 20 ans.
« Very bittersweet… yes, it’s hard. Very hard. »
« But it’s okay. I’m happy. I had so much fun. A bit disappointed with the score, but I really enjoyed myself. The crowd was incredible. The horse was incredible. And it was the best possible day to say goodbye to him. Clearly. He loved it. I really felt it. And I savored every moment. I’ll keep that in my heart for a very long time. »
